Thong Pha Phum National Park

Thong Pha Phum National Park is in national conserved forest, Huaykayeng forest, and Khaochangpuak forest area. It is 700,000 rais or 1,120 square kilometers. The north side to next to Toongyai Naraesuan National Park. The south side is next to Saiyoke National Park. The east side is next to Thai-Myanmar border.
Thong Pha Phum National Park is at the west side of Thong Pha Phum District, 60 kilometers away from the District along the public highway 3272. There are many tourist attractions. There are 2 view points. The first one is Doi Tongpalae where visitors have to walk about 30 meters from the car park. From this beautiful view point, you can see Jokkadin Waterfall. Another one, Nernkuddoy, car park is available. From here, you can see various mountains, Khuen Vachiralongkorn Lake, and Changpuak Mountain which is the highest mountain in the national park. There are 3 nature trails; Jokkadin Waterfall, Papae Waterfall, and Jedmitr Waterfall. Tourist guide is required for the trip. These waterfalls are in Pilok Sub-District, the area near Thai-Myanmar border which was once a tin and Wolframite mine. It has a lot of forest and is covered with mist throughout the year. Four wheel driving is required. to go there, even the route is paved, but it is steep and has a lot of dangerous bends. Visitors must drive cautiously.
Most area is mountains lying from north to south. They are a part of Tanaosri Mountain. There are few lowlands. The area is about 100-1,249 meter above sea level. Significant mountain peaks are Changpuak Mountain, Nisa Mountain, Putong Mountain, Dang Mountain, Pakpratoo Mountain, Lorlo Mountain, Pranongtokee Mountain, and Chalong Mountain. These mountains are the sources of many brooks such as Huay Malai, Huay Kob, Huay San, Huay Ongphra, Huay Peekee, Huay Pakkok, and Huay Jedmitr. They flow to the eastern lowland and then Khaolam Dam. Some water flows to Kuai Noi River.

How to get there :
To get there, from Kanchanaburi, follow Highway 323 to Amphoe Thong Pha Phum and turn into Highway 3272 (Thong Pha Phum – Pilok Mine) for some 57 km. to Thong Pha Phum National Park’s headquarters. The road, though asphalted, climbs up the mountain with several sharp curves; drivers will have to drive carefully.
