Koh Laan is an island located on the eastern side of the Gulf of Siam, Muang Pattaya district in Chonburi province. It is 7 kilometeres away from Muang Pattaya’s shore; it is one of the most popular places in Thailand among tourists for relaxing.
Koh Laan has the area of 4 square kilometers composing of many beautiful beaches crowded with tourists who come for the sea, coral diving and other sea sports such as parasailing or jet skiing. There are also numerous sandy beaches including Tawaen Beach where you can enjoy skin-diving and admiring colorful corals under the sea.
Thong Lang Beach is located next to Tawaen beach with various activities for people who love coral viewing including skin diving, sea walking and glass-bottom boat service offering for those who like to watch these sea corals closely.
Tien Beach is located on the west side of the island; it is a perfect small beach for private relaxation. As for Samae Beach, the atmosphere is quieter than the other beaches. There are other beaches and small islands around Koh Laan such as Krok Island and Sak Island where people come for fishing, coral viewing both in shallow and deep sea level and learning diving lessons.
To visit Koh Laan, take a passenger boat about 45 minutes or 15 minutes by a speed boat. The boat leaves from Bali Hai Port in South Pattaya to Koh Laan every day. Pattaya-Koh Laan (front port) leaves at 07.00, 10.00, 12.00, 14.00, 15.30, 17.00 and 18.30. Return at 6.30, 07.30, 09.30, 12.00, 14.00, 17.00 and 18.00. The boat fee is 30 baht per person. The boat stops at the front port. Pattaya boat-Koh Laan (Tawaen Beach) leaves 08.00, 09.00, 11.00 and 13.00, and return at 13.00, 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00. If you want to visit the other beaches, long-tailed boat or taxi are available. Speed boats are also available everywhere around Pattaya beach. The rental fee is around 3,000 baht where you can visit more than one beach depending on your deal.

How to get there :
A ferry service departs Laem Bali Hai Pier to Ko Lan everyday. Departure time is from 7.00 a.m.-6.30 p.m., while the arrival trips leave Ko Lan from 6.30 a.m.-6.00 p.m. It costs 20 baht. The boat will stop at Na Ban Pier. In case of going to other beaches, visitors can rent a boat or a taxi. There also are speed boats for 10 persons are available along Pattaya beach. Visitors can stop at Ta Waen Beach and Thong Lang Beach. The rental fee for the speed boat is 2,500-3,000 baht or depending on the agreement.
