Built in 1489 by Prince Thong Ngua, a son of King Tilokkarat who was the 12th king of Lanna kingdom, Wat Phra Chao Lan Thong is best known for its 1,200-kilogram, 3-meter-tall golden Buddha statue named Phra Chao Lan Thong. In addition, there is another historic Buddha statue made out of brass, featuring the refined Sukhothai style, named Phra Chao Thong Thip
